al sunsplash anche un Linux-Camp dove si porterà alla conoscenza del pubblico il nostro amato Sistema Operativo.
La partecipazione a questa manifestazione è nata dall?idea di portare la conoscenza di GNU/Linux al di fuori del web, cercando un contatto diretto con le persone.
Questo primo Linux-Camp sarà sperimentale e saranno proposti argomenti consoni ad un pubblico che prevediamo essere poco tecnico, quindi diretti ad un utilizzo desktop:

* Multimedialità
* Uso sicuro di Internet
* Programmi per l?ufficio

Programma e argomenti saranno adattati alle necessità e alle richieste che troveremo sul campo.
Inoltre ci sarà la distribuzione gratuita di Ubuntu che lo scorso anno ha riscosso un grande successo grazie ai CDROM forniti da Canonical.

Una vera e propria sorpresa, amazing nice surprise: Ziggy Marley al Rototom Sunsplash reggae festival 2007 venerdì 13 luglio, friday 13. Un?occasione ideale per ascoltare il recentissimo ?Love Is My Religion?, l?album con il quale il figlio di Bob Marley ha ottenuto un ?Grammy Award? nel 2007, premio Oscar della musica oltre, naturalmente, per riassaporare i classici del repertorio dei Melody Makers: la band che Ziggy giovanissimo, formò con i propri fratelli e sorelle prima di intraprendere la carriera da solista.
David ‘Ziggy’ Marley è, infatti, il secondogenito di Bob Marley e Rita, il quale inizia la sua carriera nella musica come cantante solista dei Melody Makers, un gruppo composto praticamente da bambini e che lo vede sul palco insieme a John Tangney e i suoi fratelli Cedella, Stephen e Sharon. ?Play the game right? segnò una svolta: era un reggae infatti talmente più rivolto verso il mercato del pop mondiale da suscitare infinite critiche tra gli amanti del roots reggae piu? genuino, i quali sentivano quel ritmo ?in levare? un po? troppo ?annacquato?. poi arrivarono ?Hey world? (1986) mentre i dischi più popolari dei Melody Makers, negli anni ottanta e novanta furono ?Conscious party? (1988), ?One bright day? (1989) e ?Jahmekya? (1991). Gli album seguenti ?Joy & blues? e ?Free like we want to be? registrarono qualche calo nelle vendite per poi giungere agli anni del nuovo millennio che videro lo scioglimento dei Melody Makers e l?attività dei numerosi figli di Marley nelle produzioni di un collettivo chiamato Ghetto Youth United.
Ziggy proseguì però nella sua carriera di solista e nel 2003 sorprese pubblico e critica con il nuovo ?Dragonfly?, un album caratterizzato da ballate acustiche. L’ultima uscita ?Love is my religion?, uscito nel 2006!!!

Art of the Psychedelic Era

Summer of Love is the Kunsthalle?s motto for the summer 2006, promising a plunge into the ?flower power? of the 1960?s and early 70?s. “Psychedelia” bears witness to a social, political, ethnic and sexual liberation that had its beginning in the 1967 ?summer of love? in San Francisco. The crossover between psychedelic art, political revolution and counter-culture found its reflection in unique aesthetics that gave voice to social, political, ethnic and sexual liberation.

Some 500 objects ? painting, sculpture, photography, film, architecture, lightshows, environments, installations, record covers and documentary material from Europe, the USA, South America and Japan ? offer a view into the intriguing aesthetics of this time.

‘Summer of Love’ is an exhibition organised by Tate Liverpool in cooperation with Kunsthalle Wien and Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt.
An additional part of the exhibition, developed for the Kunsthalle Wien, provides a view of the aesthetics and events of the 1960?s in Austria. Whether psychedelic, consciousness-expanding or genre-crossing, the senses were strained to their limits, social criticism was mixed with visionary ideas, and Austrian flower power children drew up dionysian utopias which fit seamlessly into the ranks of those of the international proponents of the movement.
